The Chiefs on Tuesday agreed to terms with free-agent receiver Sammy Watkins and free-agent inside linebacker Anthony Hitchens, a source confirmed to The Star.

Watkins is expected to sign a three-year deal worth $48 million total with $30 million guaranteed at signing, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

Last season Watkins recorded 39 catches for 593 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games. This is according to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Tite Announces Squad for Russian Federation and Germany Friendlies
It will be the Brazilians' first meeting with Germany since their 7-1 loss in the semi-finals of the World Cup on home soil. These will be Brazil's last friendlies until the provisional World Cup squad is selected in May.

In four National Football League seasons, the former first-round draft pick has 192 catches for 3,052 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Watkins played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 after three seasons with the Buffalo Bills.

The wide receiver reeled in just 39 catches for 593 yards a year ago in Los Angeles, but still managed to be a threat in the red zone with eight touchdowns. During his first season in Kansas City, the Chiefs signed Dwayne Bowe to a big deal, enabling them to use the franchise tag on Branden Albert at the last minute. By bringing in Watkins, however, it now provides second-year gunslinger Patrick Mahomes a bigger target on the outside to work with alongside Tyreek Hill. While that will nearly certainly still be in play moving forward, having that bigger target for his young signal-caller can only help the situation.
