It's been rumored for a while now, and where there's smoke, there's more often than not fire.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is set to light up Wrestlemania 34 on April 8 and former WWE superstar CM Punk is expected to make his return to the UFC Octagon in Chicago. While the card also featured a heavyweight title fight between Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem, a fair amount of that interest could be attributed to Punk.
This date comes as a no-brainer for Punk's sophomore appearance as the event is UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
As many wrestling fans know, CM Punk was a pro wrestler prior to jumping into the Octagon. If Punk's statement is to be taken at face value, he'll be fighting at the event.
Responding to a scathing tweet asking when we'd see Punk "cry again" inside the cage, the ex-WWE star announced that he'd be shedding tears for a very different reason (victory) on 9 June.

Coutinho: Neymar's return to Barcelona 'would be awesome'

Punk's signing in 2014 turned a lot of heads in the MMA world.
Almost two years after his UFC signing was announced, Punk stepped in the octagon against Mickey Gall at UFC 203 in September 2016.
Punk's debut fight didn't go as many of his fans hoped, as he was taken down by Gall early on and submitted to a rear naked choke.
UFC President Dana White initially shot down the rumor, saying on an episode of UFC Tonight that no deal was in place.
It's rumored Punk will be fighting a fighter named Mike Jackson who now has the same fight record as Punk with just one loss and zero wins.
