Ok so the photograph is a dead obvious giveaway but for those that don't recognise this man (shame on you!), Mark Hamill has been named as guest of honour for the inaugural St. Patrick's Festival 2018. During his visit, Mark will be a special guest in the Presidential stand to view the National Festival Parade on March 17th.
"Mark Hamill has played another role too, for which all along the Wild Atlantic Way are deeply grateful, in promoting the now iconic route and Tourism Ireland's "Star Wars campaign" and films with Mark Hamill praising of Irish hospitality have been seen by some 8m people around the world. Many of these have a special connection with Ireland and we want to celebrate and recognise this", she explained.
Susan Kirby, St Patrick's Festival CEO, said: "The role of International Guest of Honour is something we have been considering for a few years". With this year's special guest, we will have an extra bit of magic for this wonderful showcase for an Irish welcome.
And it's just now we're finding out the man has a "double-link" to Ireland!
