That's certainly the case with YouTube's "Dark theme", which arrives today on the iOS version of the app. Though the feature started as part of a limited test in April 2017, Dark Mode later rolled out to all YouTube users in May along with the site's Material Design visual overhaul. Offering a dark theme on YouTube also makes sense from an aesthetic perspective because it gives the app a more cinematic feel. The playback screen featured a more consistent skinning, and we already saw developers fine-tuning the shades of dark gray tones being employed.
