If you are unable to add GIFs to your Stories on Snapchat or Instagram, it is because the feature has been temporarily removed from both platforms.

A spokesperson from Snapchat cleared the side by saying that the app is for teens aged 13+. Giphy appears to have removed the GIF as it's no longer available in Instagram. Snapchat confirms to TechCrunch "As soon as we were made aware, we removed the GIF and have disabled Giphy until we can be sure that this won't happen again. while we wait for Giphy's team to take a look at it". A tweet by Lyauna Augmon shows the GIF being used within Instagram. However, it may take some time to reflect on all the users. But social media companies also somewhat rely on crowd-sourced policing of content, which means that offensive posts can get a lot of attention as users share them in expressing their outrage before they can be removed from the platform.

The GIF has used an awfully racist word and questioned about the "Crime Death Counter".

Snapchat first confirmed the decision to pull support for GIPHY.

Following the issue, GIPHY assures that the bug has been fixed and that they have re-moderated all of the GIF stickers in their library. "We have stopped our integration with HIPHY as they investigate the issue".
