Google isn't saying much about the Gmail redesign, though it noted it's "working on some major updates to Gmail" in a statement to The Verge, adding these are "still in draft phase".

Google has begun sending an email out to G Suite administrators alerting them that a redesign of Gmail is on the horizon.

Google says the update will also bring offline support, as well as the ability to snooze emails, a popular feature found on many third-party email clients.

Google issues a warning that some Chrome extensions may not be compatible with the Gmail redesign, but does not specify which.

There's still plenty we don't know about this rare update to Gmail. It'll be available in the coming weeks.
