Motorola's Moto Mod accessory line has continued to grow since it was introduced in 2016.

Despite the lower price, Motorola's speaker solution doesn't appear to be cutting any corners. This new stereo speaker mod snaps to the back of any compatible Moto Z smartphone and voila, you already have a speaker and enhanced sound for your mobile device. There was the Alexa Smart Speaker mod which turned your smartphone into an Alexa-powered device so you can bring Echo-like goodness wherever you went.

You can buy the Moto Stereo Speaker from Motorola's website right now for $59.99 upfront or on monthly payments that start at just $10/month.

The lack of a dedicated battery will inevitably translate into a shorter battery life for the connected smartphone.

This actually isn't the first speaker mod that Motorola has launched but majority are from third-party partners.
