Firefighters are reminding people in the area of elevated fire risks after a brush fire broke out in Beckley Thursday evening.

"We've got historic conditions as far as fire". They ask people to avoid burning anything until next week after more rain showers move through our area. Oklahoma Forestry Services is supporting the fire with aircraft, and a task force, along with numerous fire departments and task forces also responding. "The final size is estimated to be approximately 300 acres".

Clarification: There is one fire in Dewey County, Oklahoma, where the town of Vici is located.

Several brush fires had been reported in Allegheny County, a dispatcher said. An additional fire southeast of Woodward that started yesterday is being monitored and is now in mop up stage.

The "Rhea Fire" in Dewey County is about 28 miles long and 7 miles wide. Crews are on scene, use caution in the area.
