If the Predators engage a killer instinct early, this series is over in no more than five.

"I don't think any team is going to walk through the playoffs and say, 'You know what?" Nashville wins 5-4 and takes a 2-0 series lead before heading to Denver, Colorado for Game 3 and Game 4.

The Nashville Predators have made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and that only means one thing- country's A-list stars will take to the ice to perform the national anthem during home games. They seemed a little off, a step behind and frankly... a tad nervous. But the Avalanche couldn't get another puck past goalie Pekka Rinne.

Colorado scored on its first official shot as Rinne didn't appear to see Zadorov's wrister with the puck going over his glove at 6:36 off assists from Mikko Rantanen and MacKinnon.

Jonathan Bernier had an alright night in goal during Game 1. The Predators let Colorado hang around too much on Saturday when they easily could have slammed the door shut. Avs center Nathan MacKinnon cut the deficit back to a goal by fooling Rinne by putting a back-hander inside the far post at 17:08 of the second period. But the Preds scored three goals in the second and two in the third.

Then Forsberg pulled some tricks out of his bag.

The Lightning scored three times in a 2:47 span in the second period, and the reeling Devils pulled goalie Keith Kinkaid after Killorn's third goal in two games made it 5-1 with 6:48 remaining in the period.

The Columbus Blue Jackets needed a forward that could take over a game. Two TV Timeout Standing O's! Now they are heading home for the next two games where they will be hoping to even the series.

Confidence was so high, in fact, that Filip Forsberg got a bit fancy on his second goal of the period.

The balanced Predators attack saw five different players score with Kevin Fiala, Viktor Arvidsson, Ryan Johansen, Austin Watson and Ryan Hartman all finding the back of the net. Just as Bridgestone Arena expected, the Predators took full control in the final period. The first one is named Gill... the second one is named Ben... after Big Ben Butzbach, a fitting tribute to one of the Preds biggest fans.
