Kerala: Newborn's body flushed down the toilet; parents on run

In another shocking incident, a two-day-old newborn was flushed in a toilet of a Clinic in Kerala. The girl's tiny body was recovered only when the plumbers tried clear a clogged toilet at the clinic of Dr Abdul Rahman in Palakkad's Malappuram.

On trying to unblock the passage, the plumbers noticed an obstruction that looked like a ball. Her body was recovered last week when the plumbers were called in to take care of the clogged toilet. The police have filed a case against the newborn's parents, who are said to be absconding and the dead baby is mored to the Thrissur medical college for an autopsy. The report said the placenta of the baby was intact, which raised suspicions that it might have been dumped soon after birth, according to the report. The police are also going through records of patients who recently visited the clinic.
