The four members of the Thottapilly family went missing while traveling from Portland, Oregon, to their home in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita. The vehicle was encased in a large amount of sediment from the river current, and it took hours for the auto to be towed out of the water.
The boy's mother, Soumya Thottapilly, 38, was found on Friday some way from the crash site in an area previously covered with water from the storm-swollen river. Sheriff's officials confirmed that after the auto was out of the river, searchers were able to recover the bodies of Sandeep Thottapilly, 42, and Saachi Thottapilly, 9, from inside the vehicle.
