The film is looking to start production within the year.

This is a bold bet for Warner Bros' Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada, who oversee DC under Toby Emmerich. She made her feature film debut with this year's Dead Pigs, which screened at Sundance and won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Ensemble Acting at the 2018 festival. The other Harley Quinn films are still under construction.

Robbie's LuckyChap is producing with Sue Kroll and her Kroll & Co Entertainment, along with Bryan Unkeless of Clubhouse Pictures.

This won't be the film based on Gotham City Sirens, or the Harley vs. Joker film, or Suicide Squad 2.
