MANNY Pacquiao remains quick on the offensive, emphasizing he hasn't made a decision yet whether or not the legendary Freddie Roach will still be on his corner for his world welterweight title fight against Lucas Matthyse.
He will be trained by Restituto "Buboy" Fernandez and Raides "Nonoy" Neri for his fight against Matthysse (39-4, 36 KOs) for the WBA welterweight title in Kuala Lumpur on July 15. "I would be lying if I didn't say I wasn't hurt that he didn't contact me personally about his decision, but the great times we enjoyed together far outweigh that".
"There was some concerns Manny had in the last fight and some statements Freddie made to the media that Manny wasn't very pleased about".
Roach would help his fighter shatter records; Pacquiao is the only fighter in history to hold world titles in eight different weight classes, as well as being the lineal champion in five. But Roach, through a spokesperson, declined to comment Sunday on the latest comments from Pacquiao.
"Manny and I had a great run for 15 years - longer than most marriages and certainly a rarity for boxing", said Roach. I wouldn't trade any of it.

"Hopefully I can retire Manny Pacquiao, we are prepared for that, prepared to win", said Matthysse, whose World Boxing Association 147-lb crown will be on the line for the first time since winning it last January in Los Angeles. Roach had been in Pacquiao's corner for 34 consecutive fights since his USA debut in 2001.
One of boxing's most successful partnerships is no more. "Inside the boxing ring and the political ring, I wish Manny nothing but the best".
Matthyse will be accompanied by promoter Oscar Dela Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions when he arrives in the country on Wednesday for the start of the two-city press tour that will also take both fighters to Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Matthysse, robust and rowdy, wants to send the Filipino legend into retirement in a story that appeared on boxingscene.
In a Sunday Facebook post, multi-titlist Manny Pacquiao (59-7-2) refuted reports that he had fired longtime trainer Freddie Roach. "I know that it will not be easy".
