"Ed won't be acting, so much as helping with the music and making a performance cameo", they said.

If there's one thing that can't be disputed about Ed Sheeran, it's that he's one of the most giving celebs out there so it's no wonder he was horrified at tabloid claims that he was installing a fence to stop homeless people from being able to sleep outside his house. It's certainly a trippy premise, if the news from the Daily Mail can be believed.

Ed Sheeran is rumoured to have been cast in a new musical comedy film directed Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis.

Initial word of Sheeran's involvement comes courtesy of Deadline, where it's reported that the now untitled comedy project - written by Love Actually's Richard Curtis - has already rounded up a cast that includes Lily James, Kate McKinnon and Himish Patel. Then again, their "source" also said, "Everything Ed touches turns to gold". He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet.

The Untitled Danny Boyle/Richard Curtis Comedy will be produced by Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Les Misérables, Darkest Hour, Bridget Jones's series) alongside Matt Wilkinson (Kaleidoscope) and Bernie Bellew (Steve Jobs).

It is not known if Sheeran will also contribute to the film score.

It's not even clear if he would be the character who wakes up remembering Beatles songs, or if he'd just appear in the movie and someone else would have that role. According to Deadline, the Universal film will also star Lily James and Himesh Patel.
