Wenger regrets not signing ex-Man United star for Arsenal

Petr Cech has warned Arsenal that "continuity is rare" as the club prepares to enter the unknown in the wake of Arsene Wenger's departure.

The veteran Frenchman is ending a 22-year stay at Arsenal but he has yet to confirm his next move, while former player Mikel Arteta is the front-runner to succeed him at Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will only be considering taking up a short-term project in the future after stepping down from his position as manager at Arsenal. Equipment manager Paul Johnson, fitness coach Tony Colbert, goalkeeping specialist Gerry Peyton and first-team coach Neil Banfield will also be leaving the club as the Arsenal hierarchy look to clear out and start again.
