LeBron James named as one of three finalists for 2018 NBA MVP

But to keep our appetites satiated, the National Basketball Association announced the finalists for each award on Wednesday. As expected, James Harden is one of the three nominees for Most Valuable Player, along with Cleveland's LeBron James and New Orleans' Anthony Davis.

As a finalist for the 2018 NBA Defensive MVP, Embiid, who averaged 11 rebounds and a 3.6 Real Plus-Minus rating will be facing off against fellow defensive anchors Rudy Gobert (5.15) and Anthony Davis (3.8) for the title best defender in the league.

Harden led the National Basketball Association in scoring at 30.4 points per game, while guiding the Rockets to a franchise-best 65 wins.

James led the league in minutes played per game as he helped the inconsistent Cavaliers into 4th place in the Eastern Conference.
