The Cavaliers will play the victor of Monday's Game 7 of the West finals between Houston and Golden State.

It's a stat that speaks to the roster tumult the Cavs went through, starting with the Kyrie Irving trade last summer, to the roster redo at the trade deadline, right up through Kevin Love's concussion that knocked him from Game 6 and sidelined him for Game 7.

James was there for all of it, playing in all 82 games for the first time in his career and leading the league in minutes.

Heading into Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, a lot was at stake for the Cleveland Cavaliers. As they strolled in, owner Dan Gilbert greeted the players, and while most got daps and hugs, LeBron strode past Gilbert pretty quickly with hardly a handshake as he made his way to the podium.

In the season opener, Jayson Tatum's dunk attempt against LeBron James was blocked.

But the Celtics couldn't get 3-pointers to fall, and Cleveland slowly chipped their way back into it. James got 3-pointers from J.R. Smith and Jeff Green, and by the time halftime rolled around, Boston's lead was down to 43-39.

The NBA Finals begin Thursday at either Houston or Golden State. But Green's larger role remains unchanged: do whatever is necessary to help LeBron James carry the Cavaliers back to the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive year. ESPN is included in the Hulu Live TV package along with many other great cable and local channels, so you'll be able to quickly join in time to watch the Cavs Celtics Game 7 series finale online.

A nail-biting deciding game of the Eastern Conference finals saw the Celtics blow an early lead as James surged ahead on his way to 35 points.

"Best player in the game", Celtics coach Brad Stevens said after Friday's game.

End of quarter: Celtics 26, Cavs 18: Celtics end the quarter on a 9-2 run to stretch their lead back to eight.

Horford said of James' overall performance, "It's one of those things that I've got to tip my hat off to him".

"No one person has ever shouldered more and gotten his team to the finals", National Basketball Association commentator Jeff Van Gundy said. The Celtics meanwhile, are looking to make their first finals appearance since 2010. "I mean, I don't think you can do that to too many people: Take him off one team and put him on another and still go to the Finals".

James finished the conference finals averaging 33.6 points, after putting up 34 points per game in the conference semifinals and 34.4 points in the first round.

But the Cavs rallied in the second half, with the scoreline finely balanced and the lead changing hands several times over the rest of the match.
