The death toll from Nipah virus rose to 16 with two more deaths reported in the last two days in Kerala's Kozhikode.

State Health Minister KK Shailaja complimented the medical teams of the Centre, state and the private sectors for effectively containing the outbreak.

All the people put under quarantine are advised to keep a check on their health at all times and inform health officers if any symptom breaks out. "It is expected to reach us by Friday", he said.
