The announcement immediately caused fans of the breakfast chain to go insane with speculation, with the most likely option for what the "b" could stand for being "breakfast".

When it comes to those places that already sell burgers, the "B" stand more for "baffling".

Along with the name change, the restaurant's Twitter page is donning a new hashtag: #IHOB.

IHOP announced last week it planned to change its name.

In fact, most people felt like the "b" was probably going to stand for "breakfast", which would have made a lot of sense. It's "IHOb" International House of Burgers. "I can't understand who thought the breakfast game wasn't working out and that the solution was to become a burger joint".

IHOP wants to be known as a place to get lunch and dinner, not just breakfast and brunch.

Texas-based Whataburger was one of the first companies to chime in on the name change.

Legendary fried chicken purveyor Church's Chicken posted an Instagram photo that poked fun at the IHOP name change buzz.
