A new in-game message confirms Fortnite's rocket will launch tomorrow

Launched alongside the v4.5 update early on June 27th, the Playground LTM offers players the chance to play alongside their friends and do whatevery they like in a private, low-pressure environment with the full Fortnite map at their disposal.

Ans it's believed that something is a season ending missile strike. A countdown in the game also appeared that led gamers to believe the rocket would launch, but when the timer hit zero, nothing happened.

Once the rocket hits, the map is expected to change in a major way.

Another clue has been sirens going off near the evil super villain lair.

This update was provided via two tweets posted on the official Fortnite Twitter page on June 29th.

Along with the sandbox-style Playground mode (which now remains offline while Epic irons out issues that cropped up shortly after it launched), this week's Fortnite: Battle Royale update marked the start of another limited-time event, Final Fight Teams of 12.

Epic developers took to reddit to explain what Fornite's latest LTM needs, and why it's proved such a strain on the server.

Epic has confirmed that the next update on the state of Playground will come at 5pm BST.

Fortnite season 5 is scheduled to start on Thursday, July 12. For comparison, as Patricia Hernandez of The Verge points out, the meteor shower that marked the end of Season 3 began days before the actual season ended and could be seen for weeks afterwards, allowing many more fans to experience the cosmic event first-hand. We want to give you a heads up on the exact ending time.

Unfortunately, Playground was only live for a short time before Epic had to take it offline.

A few days later, a countdown started displaying on numerous TVs across the island, revealing that something was going to happen Saturday at exactly 1:30pm EST.
