'Thai Navy SEALS have found all 13 with signs of life, ' Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn told reporters.

As the the sun breaks out, Narongsak Osottanakorne, the governoer of Chiang Rai province, says conditions for the operation are improving.

The group disappeared while on a team outing on June 23, when flooding trapped them inside the Tham Luang Nang Non network of underground caves.

Rescuers found all 12 boys and their soccer coach alive deep inside a partially flooded cave in northern Thailand late Monday, more than a week after they disappeared and touched off a desperate search that drew global help and captivated the nation. Divers struggled through narrow passages and murky waters to discover the boys late on Monday night on an elevated rock about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) from the mouth of the cave. "We will take care of them until they can move".

The Tham Luang cave complex in Chiang Rai in northern Thailand is regularly flooded during the rainy season which lasts until September or October.

Vice Chair of The British Cave Rescue Council, Bill Whitehouse, released a statement describing the logistical difficulties of rescuing the boys and their coach.

The group appear to ask when they will be taken to safety and one of the unseen rescuers replies: "Not today".

The Moo Pa Academy team's belongings, including bicycles, backpacks and football cleats, were found just outside the entrance of the flooded cave complex in Chiang Rai's Mae Sai district, where they had gone for a sightseeing trip.

The ABC's Southeast Asia correspondent Liam Cochrane said the group was found nearly 4km inside the mountain.

"Above the cave, officials and volunteers were searching for shafts that might provide a back door into the cave".

He told the Sunday Times magazine: 'I enjoy the logistical challenge.

Thailand's prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has thanked the worldwide experts who assisted in the search. Several have been found and explorers have been able to descend into some.
