A crew member on the upcoming crime film City of Lies filed a lawsuit on Friday, July 6, that claims the actor physically and verbally assaulted him on set in Los Angeles in April 2017, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. "When PLAINTIFF did not react to DEPP's satisfaction after being punched, DEPP yelled "I WILL GIVE YOU ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS TO PUNCH ME IN THE FACE RIGHT NOW!"
The movie stars Johnny as real-life LAPD detective Russell Poole, who investigated the 1997 murder of 25-year-old rapper Biggie Smalls.
Brooks said he was sacked from the "City of Lies" production three days later after he refused to sign a release giving up his right to sue Depp over the incident.
