The accountability court Islamabad on Friday last handed down 10 and 7 years rigorous imprisonment to Sharif and Maryam respectively in the Avenfield properties corruption case filed by the NAB.

Both Nawaz Sharif and his daughter are now in London to look after Mr Sharif's wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who is suffering from throat cancer and has been on ventilator since June 14 after a cardiac arrest.

The bureau also requested media not to air Safdar's live speeches, saying they are against the law and the code of conduct of the country's media regulator.

Captain (retired) Muhammad Safdar, his wife Maryam and Sharif were given jail terms on Friday in the Avenfield properties case.

NAB teams are expected to arrest both father and daughter as soon as they arrive.

The NAB has already declared that Mr Sharif and Maryam will be arrested upon their arrival at any airport of the country.

"We have made arrangements for the arrest of Sharif and his daughter at Lahore and Islamabad airports to implement court orders", NAB spokesman Bilal Punnu told dpa on July 8. But after the video message was sent to the party workers and supporters through the PML-N media cell regarding his surrender, the charged workers received him near Liaquat Bagh at about 4pm and they started marching towards the federal capital, where NAB Rawalpindi's regional headquarters is situated.

"So far we have not been successful but his homes are being monitored", a NAB official said.

"Our workers can not be stopped by any hurdle", she said.
