Charges dropped after Stormy Daniels arrested at OH strip club

In what her lawyer dubbed a "politically motivated" set-up, Daniels was arrested without incident at the Sirens club in Columbus, Ohio after officers accused her of knowingly touching club patrons "in a specified anatomical area".

"Are you kidding me?"

She is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin Municipal Court on Friday morning. An arrest affidavit said Daniels allegedly inappropriately touched male and female undercover police officers after they threw cash in her direction.

Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, the porn film star who said she had an affair with Donald Trump before he became us president, is shown in this booking photo released by Franklin County Sheriff's Office, in Columbus, Ohio, on July 12, 2018. He also said that Daniels is briefly postponing her national tour and will plead not guilty to the charges against her. She had been charged with three counts of violating statute 2907.40 (C)(2) (also known as the Community Defense Act), which prohibits dancers from touching patrons. A violation is a misdemeanor.

Michael Avenatti told NBC News that Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was touched in a non-sexual manner while on stage. "There has to be higher priorities".

So there are undercover vice officers that came to the club for the goal of trying to get her to touch them so that they could then arrest her, which is ludicrous.

The high-powered attorney claims the arrest was "part of a sting" based on a "puritan law" that says there is absolutely no touching in strip clubs in Columbus.

Daniels was arrested, along with two other dancers, at Sirens Gentleman's Club in Columbus. After taking off her top, Daniels "began forcing the faces of the patrons into her chest and using her bare breasts to smack the patrons". She was released Thursday morning on a $6,000 bond. Avenatti called the arrest a "complete set up" in an interview with the Associated Press.

Daniels made the national spotlight this year due to a legal controversy with President Donald Trump, in which she claims she was coerced to sign a confidentiality contract to prevent her from talking about a former affair during the 2016 presidential campaign. "I deeply apologize to my fans in Columbus", she said.

The Columbus Dispatch reported that the law, in effect since 2007, is seldom enforced. The White House has said Trump denies an affair happened. He initially said he used his own money to pay Daniels and was not reimbursed by Trump.
