Astros to place George Springer on DL ahead of Giants series

Lance McCullers Jr. was placed on the 10-day Disabled List after leaving Saturday's game against the Dodgers with elbow discomfort.

The former All-Star was inserted into the game in the bottom of the eighth inning in San Francisco, though the Astros' official Twitter account made no mention of their controversial acquisition's debut at that juncture. McCullers returned to Houston on Sunday morning to get a more detailed examination from team doctors.
