Palace will hope that Ayew can hit the ground running at Selhurst Park and it has been claimed he will slot into the role that Ruben Loftus-Cheek played for the club last term.

Crystal Palace have announced the signing of forward Jordan Ayew on a season-long loan from Swansea.

He signed on transfer deadline day and follows the recent captures of Cheikhou Kouyaté, Max Meyer, and Vicente Guaita.

Ayew's exit from Swansea had been expected after Swans coach Graham Potter confirmed on Tuesday that the 26-year-old has not turned up to training as he looked to force a move away from the club.

He can also be backed at 6/4 not to be in charge for the club's final game of the season, and 10/1 to be the first sacking and United to finish outside of the top-4.

Indeed, speculation about the final standing of Palace began when he was first linked with a transfer to the club with some fans predicting a drop for Palace if they signed him.

"Well, I don't really like speaking about relegation because I think we (Swansea) all gave our 100% but in football you need luck", Ayew said in an interview with cpfc.co.uk.

Ayew has been relegated from the Premier League twice in the last three years, dropping out of the top flight with Swansea last season having also suffered the same fate during his spell at Aston Villa.

"I chose to come to Palace to continue improving".

He also has 46 caps for his country, where he has scored a total of 12 goals but has now joined the Eagles and he could make his debut on Saturday when Palace travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in their Premier League opener.
