The information in the release didn't mention which countries would be receiving the OTA update first, but considering that the presser came out of Germany, OnePlus could be pushing out plates of Pie on a regional basis. OnePlus has added new Gaming mode 3.0 with the support of test notification mode and notification for 3rd party calls.
The software update brings "Adaptive Battery" feature, which takes stock of the apps you use the most and prioritises battery usage for those. After vigorous testing, OnePlus has started rolling out its latest OxygenOS 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie for OnePlus 6 smartphones.
OnePlus said it will have a broader rollout of its update in a few days - "after making sure there are no critical bugs". Finally, the Android Security Patch has been updated to September 2018. OnePlus also stated that the old VPN method would not work for the OnePlus 6 because the update is being rolled out to just a limited set of users and not in some locations. "We're looking forward to bringing Android P to the OnePlus 5/5T and OnePlus 3/3T, ensuring OnePlus users all over the world can continue to enjoy new features", added OnePlus. So only a limited number of OnePlus 6 owners will actually see the update land on their phones today.
However, the company did not reveal when it's going to release the update to other devices though.
