Last month, HMD Global launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 5.1 Plus, however, it did not reveal the price of the latter. It comes with a 2.5D curved glass back body with glossy finish frame. While the 6.1 Plus went on sale soon after the launch, the cheaper Nokia 5.1 Plus was delayed for a later date. The Finnish company recently started sending out invites for an event, scheduled to take place in London on October 4, 2018, where it may launch the smartphone.

Based on previous reports, Nokia 7.1 Plus is rumoured to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Nokia 5.1 Plus also comes with an Airtel offer. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. It has a native storage of 32 GB and it carries support microSD card through hybrid SIM slot. At the back of the phone has a dual-rear camera setup with a 13MP + 5MP lenses with a f/2.0 aperture, and on the front, there is an 8MP unit with f/2.2 aperture and 80.4-degree angle of view.
Talking about the performance of the phone, Ajey Mehta, Vice-President and Country Head of HMD Global India said "with Nokia 5.1 Plus we wanted to bring a phone that was high on performance that could get exciting gaming and entertainment experiences closer to a wider group of fans". The front-facing camera has an 8-megapixel unit. Software-wise, the new 5.1 Plus boots vanilla-Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, and as part of the Android One scheme, the handset is entitled to timely software updates from Google. It will also be sold on Nokia's online store in India. A 3,060mAh battery fuels the device. The device will be available in Gloss Black, Gloss White, and Midnight Gloss Blue color options.
