Transformers: 'Bumblebee' International Trailer Has New Footage Optimus Prime, Cybertron

Coming to cinemas this December, Bumblebee centres on the popular yellow Autobot and is directing by Travis Knight who previously made stop-motion masterpiece Kubo and the Two Strings.

A new trailer for the solo Bumblebee film has made itself known and it continues to bolster our prediction that it might just be the most heart-warming movie of the holiday season.

The Transformers are back this Christmas, albeit in a much smaller-scale (although still flipping ginormous), with its first spin-off Bumblebee. There are also rumors that a film called Transformers One, which would reveal the origins of the Autobots and Decepticons, is in development, as well as plans for a crossover with GI Joe and other Hasbro properties. The film is the sixth in the Transformers live-action series following 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight, the final film to be directed Michael Bay, who has directed every film in the series so far.

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. The full-length Bumblebee trailer dropped late Sunday night/early Monday morning, depending on your point of view, and it not only showed us some of what you'd expect and we've seen before, which is Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie Watson getting to know Bumblebee, but a lot more that we hadn't yet. It is set for release on December 21st 2018 in the States and December 26th in the UK. A certain yellow VW Beetle catches her eye and she asks the proprietor if its for sale.
