Specifically, this new build of Zelda on offer is described as "Living the life of luxury!". Nintendo has also stealth released The Legend of Zelda - Living the Life of Luxury, a special edition of the classic NES game that lets players start the game with a pile of rupees and handy items.

NES™ Open Tournament Golf, Solomon's Key and Super Dodge Ball are now available to play anytime and anywhere on Nintendo Entertainment System™ - Nintendo Switch Online. "You'll begin with all equipment, including the White Sword, the Magical Shield, the Blue Ring, and even the Power Bracelet", reads the game blurb. The protagonist, a sorcerer called Dana, must find the eponymous key by progressing through a series of increasingly challenging rooms by creating and/or destroying orange blocks.

In a press release, Nintendo said we can expect that "special save data for other NES titles will become available in the future, offering fun new entry points into fan-favorite games". That said, the full complement of items makes the game a bit more approachable for complete newcomers, while also taking away a lot of the sense of growth and mastery that comes from building Link's original arsenal one piece at a time.

Why didn't Nintendo tell us they were planning first-party official ROM hacks exclusively for Switch Online months ago?! In November, Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee will be added, while December will bring ADVENTURES OF LOLO, Ninja Gaiden, and Wario's Woods.
