Diablo 4 May Have Been Teased Ahead of BlizzCon 2018

Blizzard is known for teases-its Twitter advert shows four Diablo shotglasses which hint at Diablo IV-so it could go either way.

A brand-new game in Blizzard's insanely-popular Diablo series might have just been leaked in the most unlikely of places-the Blizzard merchandise store.

Adam Bankhurst is a news writer for IGN who can't wait for Diablo III on the Switch and would be up for Diablo IV: Reign of Terror, if that's what it ends up being. Wowhead reported that there would be a Sylvanas statue on the floor that year, indicating the direction the then-unrevealed expansion would take.

The "Reign of Terror" tagline might sound a little familiar too - in Diablo 3 there was an achievement called "Reign of Terror".

We know that there are at least two Diablo-related projects in the works.

Business Insider Australia asked about the feature while demoing Diablo III: Eternal Collection on Switch, and a Blizzard representative responded by saying "it's a matter of when, not if".

Diablo III: Eternal Collection releases for the Nintendo Switch on November 2nd, 2018.

Diablo III is an incredibly popular action game which relies on higher difficulty levels and loot drops to keep players hooked. Blizzard previously said cross-play wouldn't be coming to the game and it seemingly hasn't looked into this any further, despite the recent claims.

While it is very likely that a new Diablo game will be revealed during Blizzcon 2018, it is unclear if Diablo Reign of Terror is in reference to the unannounced title, or is simply a nod to Diablo 3.
