As part of a huge push towards electrification of the brand by 2022, Porsche has made a decision to put the Mission E Cross Turismo concept auto from the Geneva motor show into production, complete with 600 horsepower and 50okm of range...

The spy shots from yesterday leave us asking ourselves one thing - is Porsche planning two wagon derivatives of its Taycan all-electric model, or the mule from yesterday is cleverly hiding the off-road cues found in the Cross Turismo.

The vehicle will receive two electric motors.

Expect the production version of the Porsche Mission E-Cross to have a slightly less radical interior. Its 800-volt architecture is prepared for connection to the charging network via both plug-in fast charger and induction and it supposedly capable of a 310 mile range (although that figure is based on the outdated NEDC test). This is in addition to the 1,200 jobs that are being set up for the production of the Taycan. The Porsche Taycan will be priced between the Cayenne and the Panamera (from €80,000).
