Mack has been considered "day-to-day" after sitting out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, before returning on a limited basis on Friday.

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw the longest touchdown pass of his career on Sunday when he connected with Tarik Cohen for a 70-yard first-quarter score against the New York Jets. So the Bears linebacker had a pretty good idea of Crowell's big-play potential going into Sunday's game.

Call it a B performance for Trubisky. The Bears still need more effectiveness from Howard, who averaged 3.7 yards per carry though frequently didn't get much help from his offensive line.

Running back Jordan Howard also had a very solid day with 22 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Darnold faced third-and-9 or more on nine occasions and third-and-6 or more on 11 occasions, and the tone was set on the first third down of the game when cornerback Kyle Fuller was able to break on a pass intended for Jermaine Kearse and deflect it, one of six pass breakups by the Bears.

The Bears' running backs were a B+.

Halloween Box Office Set to Shatter Records, A Star is Born Rises
And there you have it, the truth behind the Boogeyman's power: as long as we keep throwing money at him, he can never really die. This weekend marked a drop of 58 percent for the film, which is still a notable performance for a horror flick.

Only the offensive line was very average, although Cody Whitehair is quietly playing very well again at center after an off 2017 campaign.

That was as much of the story as anything else for Jets rookie Sam Darnold, who had a rocky day throwing the ball.

Danny Trevathan was all over the field, providing help in run support with a team-leading seven tackles and had a good pass break-up.

Holding the Jets to 207 yards of total offense and just 24-57 (2.4 YPC) on the ground is a great day's work, an A- for the job the front seven did.

Other than a boneheaded penalty by safety Eddie Jackson that kept a touchdown-scoring drive alive, the Bears secondary completely contained the Jets passing offense. A missed opportunity for an interception turned into a 29-yard gain.

Yes, the Jets are a team the Bears have to beat if we are to take them seriously, but that shouldn't diminish the fact they mostly played really well doing it.
