While Pete Davidson has publicly spoken up about their break-up during a segment on Saturday Night Live, it was actually Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez who were sent the track for clearance before it dropped online.

Reposting the video, she commented on it on her own page, writing, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm sorry u got the worst line it was meant v lovingly".

For his part, the 24-year-old left the jokes behind when he addressed their split in a recent monologue: "The last thing I will say is I know some of you are curious about the break-up".

People paired Grande's emotional lyrics with competing love interests, including "Gilmore Girls'" Jess, Dean and Logan, while others matched the lyrics the three Property Brothers and "Degrassi" couples.
