The latest tweak to the PlayStation 4 Pro makes the powerhouse console nearly as quiet as Sony was about sneaking the new model into stores.

That's the finding of Eurogamer's Digital Foundry test labs, which noted there is a number of new improvements included with the CUH-7200 console that accompanies the new Red Dead 2 sets.

KitGuru Says: I've always been impressed by what Sony's first-party team can squeeze out of the PS4 Pro but my launch unit is incredibly loud at times. The only other notable change is reportedly a new "figure 8" power plug - the same power adapter the Xbox One uses. Now, the company has rolled out a new model, one that's quieter than the PS4 Pros to have come before it. Even at its loudest point, the new machine will only hit 48 dB, which is still quieter than the previous PS4 Pro's lowest noise output. These are relatively minor tweaks which are less likely to influence anyone's decision to make the jump to a PS4 Pro.
