Microsoft's technical specifications state the new model will include a nano SIM tray and run on 4G LTE Advanced networks.

Microsoft launched the Surface Go back in July, the smallest of its Surface range. In that scenario, the Go becomes much less useful.

Overall, pricing for the Surface Go hybrid tablet starts at $399, which means there's a significant price premium for the LTE functionality over WiFi connectivity. Now, you can pre-order the eminently portable and connected LTE version, priced at US$679, with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. This puts the true "LTE fee" at around $130.

Microsoft is starting to take preorders today, November 12, for its promised Surface Go with built-in LTE support. Surface Go with LTE Advanced is available now in the USA for $679 to consumers and $729 to commercial customers. The new Surface will be available in 23 markets and Microsoft will open up the deals to other markets in the coming months. The follow cellular providers will be supporting the Surface Go with LTE right out of the gate: AT&T, Verizon, DoCoMo, SoftBank, KDDI, EE UK, Vodafone UK and Sprint.
