Night Sight works best on Pixel 3.
As noted on our recent Pixel 3 smartphone review, one big thing brought by the latest generation of Google's handsets is computational photography, which now supports two modes to improve the picture quality of still pictures: Super Res Zoom, and Night Sight. This random disappearing is causing inconvenience to the users even after the contacting the Google support, they reported no luck in reverting their older texts.
However, as with all low-light modes of this type, there are limitations to Night Sight.

That means you can download the update for yourself a bit early over at APK Mirror. It's not super likely this feature will expand to non-Pixel smartphones.

To attain the official Google Camera update to allow the use of Night Sight, head over to Google Play where the app will appear ready for update.
What does Google's Night Sight do?
Other issues include auto white balance, which fails in low light and mapping actual tone of the scene. What it can't fix, for now, is a physically broken Pixel 3, but we'll get there, in time. Google says these images are equivalent to a 5 second long exposure. The feature won't work exactly the same on Pixel 2 and Pixel as it does on Pixel 3. "We've also brought it to Pixel 2 and the original Pixel, although on the latter we use shorter exposures because it has no optical image stabilization (OIS)", Marc Levoy, Distinguished Engineer, and Yael Pritch Knaan, Staff Software Engineer at Google, said in a blog post.
