U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on Thursday that acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, who now oversees a probe of whether President Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russian Federation, told him he had no concerns about Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the investigation.
Trump's legal team has asked him to refrain from criticizing Mueller and the Russian Federation investigation on Twitter, and the president laid off in the period before the November midterm elections. "They have found no collusion and have gone absolutely nuts", Trump tweeted. They won't even look at all of the bad acts and crimes on the other side.
The text of Trump's tweets: "The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess". These are Angry People, including the highly conflicted Bob Mueller, who worked for Obama for 8 years.
Trump and his campaign are alleged to have received help from Russian agents seeking to help defeat his 2016 opponent Hillary Clinton or at least to undermine confidence in United States democracy.
Mueller was confirmed as Federal Bureau of Investigation director by the Senate with a 98-0 margin in 2001 under then-President Bush, and the law later changed to extend his 10-year term.

Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer has said that if Whitaker refuses to recuse himself from the probe, as Sessions had done, Democrats will seek to attach legislation protecting Mueller to a must-pass spending bill that will be up for consideration in the coming weeks. Sessions was the first major political figure to support Trump in the 2016 election, but also had met with Russia's then-ambassador to Washington in the run-up to the voting two years ago.
He was replaced by his own chief of staff Matthew G. Whitaker, who publicly criticized the Mueller probe before joining the Justice Department. After that, he was appointed by Rod Rosenstein as the special counsel and Rosenstein was appointed by Trump and approved by the Republican Senate as well.
Graham, after a meeting with Whitaker, said he was confident there would be no interference in the investigation and said he said he saw no need for Whitaker to recuse himself as Democrats have demanded, the spokesperson confirmed. However, it was blocked by Senate majority leader and key Trump ally Mitch McConnell.
Mueller has won convictions or secured guilty pleas from several Trump campaign figures, who are cooperating with Mueller's investigators while awaiting sentencing.
