Missing NC girl found 900 miles from home; man charged with abduction

Authorities say a man is being held on charges after he was allegedly found with a missing 13-year-old child from North Carolina.

Acree's family has been notified and she will return to them in North Carolina.

Investigators tracked a kidnapped girl across multiple states and found her safe in Oklahoma, 900 miles (1,448 kilometers) from her North Carolina home. "We don't know if she actively started to leave and someone assisted her but we do know she's not where she needs to be and any assistance is greatly appreciated", Rutherford County Sheriff Chris Francis had said during the investigation, Fox Carolina reported.

Aubrey was reported missing by her mother on November 26, 2018.
