It's a major step for the team who are finally starting to get a few healthy starters into the lineup as the new year approaches. Boylen has been with the Bulls since Jun. 17, 2015. Denzel Valentine (ankle), Kris Dunn (knee) and Bobby Portis (knee) have missed significant time and forward Lauri Markkanen didn't make his season debut until this past weekend because of an elbow injury.
Hoiberg, 46, guided the Bulls to one postseason appearance, losing to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2017 Eastern Conference playoffs.
