Rahm scripts a master class to win Hero World Challenge

Jon Rahm in the final round at the Hero World Challenge

Jon Rahm dropped only two shots over the final three rounds in the Bahamas

"Yeah, in hindsight. I made a six there, one bad swing can do that on any hole and that's what happened".

Woods contended several times, including at the British Open and PGA Championship majors, before he ended a five-year victory drought by winning the Tour Championship in September.

There are two ways to look at matchup bets for the elite-field 18-man Hero World Challenge: Either we can become hyper-focused on such a small group of players or it can be tougher than usual because so many studs are playing head-to-head. "If I can keep winning three times every year, yeah, I'll be extremely happy". That was the case Friday, when Rahm made birdies on half of his holes for a 9-under 63 to share the lead with Henrik Stenson, who had a 66.

"We play a lot of golf courses on the PGA Tour there's only two or three, so to be able to have those couple extra par-fives you just know you're going to have some opportunities to score and I've been able to take advantage of those opportunities", added Finau, who is nine-under on 15 par-fives through three rounds.

"He kind of laughed and told me it's all about feel", Rahm said.

"I'll try and make it to the finish line", Stenson said.

"I've hit some brilliant shots but I wouldn't say I'm firing 100 percent", he said. I've kept saying it the same way. After the tournament, Rahm reflected on having recently played and beaten Woods in their individual match at the Ryder Cup.

Rahm has said all week the key to Albany were the five par 5s and two reachable par 4s.

Saturday had plenty of action beyond the birdies.

Cantlay is a shot behind the European pair after signing for a 70. So I guess I should be a little bit fresher than some of my colleagues who call me from Hong Kong or somewhere else at this point.

Noren was two-over par after 10 holes and then after a birdie on 12 he completed his closing five holes in freaky manner - birdie (14), eagle (15), triple-bogey (16), ace (17) and birdie (18) in a score of 70 that put him tied for eighth on eight-under.

Alex Noren bounced back from a triple-bogey at 16 with a hole-in-one at the very next hole. The Sweden made eagle on the par-5 15th, followed that with a triple bogey on the 16th, and then responded with an ace on the par-3 17th.

He isn't putting a lot of stock into an event, and he wasn't about to make any comparisons to his return to golf in the Bahamas past year.
