Game of Thrones teaser is full of fire and ice literally

Game of Thrones season 8, which is the final season of the popular HBO show, has received its first teaser.

So not only does the trailer not shed much light on what we can expect from the new season, but we are all still so in the dark about the release date for the final season that even the Lord of Light would struggle to put a date on it.

Following that brief three-second glimpse of footage earlier this year, this animation shows the Houses of Westeros freezing and burning on the table at Dragonstone, clashing together in ice and fire. A figure of a direwolf is covered in ice (probably representing House Stark), then a miniature dragon is frozen (a reference to House Targaryen or possibly zombie dragon Viserion). A statue of a lion is also engulfed in flames before the ice and fire meet in the middle. It's a nice nod to the show's source material, George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series.

There, Benioff and Weiss revealed how they first imagined the series ending at the end of the third season.
