In case you hadn't gleaned this detail from today's many posts mentioning games launching on Epic's Store: Epic's new digital games store has now opened for business. Subnautica, an underwater survival game, is now $24.99 on Steam, but Epic Games will give away free copies from December 14th - 27th. Store pages for individual games like Hades have some information and trailers but no user reviews or links to forums, newsfeeds, and lots of other features which can occasionally be useful but also overwhelming and unnecessary.
Epic said it would charge less commission for listing games, so more cash would be returned to developers. CEO Tim Sweeney's tirade against Microsoft's UWP platform and the more recent Fortnite on Android drama has given the game developer and publisher a more "pro-developer" image.
