Duo, another Google video call app, is miraculously still alive as Google cited consumer success - though for how long is anyone's guess. Well, the company says, that it wants "every single Android device to have a great default messaging experience". He admitted then that "The product as a whole has not achieved the level of traction that we'd hoped for", though Google would keep supporting the app.

"We built Google Allo, a smart messaging app, to help you get more done in your chats and express yourself more easily", Google vice president Matt Klainer explains. Instead, Google will shift its focus to Android Messages, and bringing new features to the app, to make the SMS experience more efficient.

To counter WhatsApp, Google introduced Allo, a messaging app where users can chat and send voice and video messages along with various supported media files. Now it's clear: Allo joins many other products in the cemetery of Google projects.

In addition to live video and audio chats, Duo can record messages when a recipient is offline. The forthcoming turn down of "Hangouts classic" may be more astonishing to the majority of its devoted users, be that as it may. Before it's fully offered up to Hangouts users, it'll first open up an opportunity for G Suite users to invite people outside of their organizations.
