The county observed a super blue blood moon in January 2018.

A super moon is a new or full moon that happens at the time of the month when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit.

The super blood wolf moon eclipse is actually just the concurrence of three separate phenomena - a lunar eclipse, a super moon and a wolf moon. Astronomers suggest watching earlier than when the total eclipse happens, so you can see the moon get covered in darkness when the partial eclipse starts about an hour before the total eclipse.

Above all, the event will take place in the night where the entire moon will be at its closest distance from the Earth.

The highlight of January's sky is a total lunar eclipse, perfectly timed for observers in the British Isles on the morning of January 21.

During a total lunar eclipse, some light from the sun which is not directly blocked by our planet is refracted through the Earth's atmosphere and bent onto the moon at a shallow angle which turns it a dramatic reddish-brown color.
