LG Launches the World's First Rollable, Futuristic OLED TV

"The "R" in the new Signature OLED TV R is about creating a revolution in home entertainment and redefining space through its ability to rise and roll-up at the touch of a button".

South Korean electronics giant LG used CES 2019 in Las Vegas to unveil the 'Signature OLED TV R, ' a television with a rollable display.

The company is yet to confirm when the device will go on sale or how much it will cost.

Visitors to CES 2019 will also be treated to an arty OLED flower made up of four 65 inch UHD OLED displays that have had their edges curled inward, as a demonstration of the flexibility of OLED displays and the kind of thing LG Display can achieve without compromising picture quality.

Radio calls of Cody Parkey’s missed field goal is absolutely heartbreaking
Parkey hit the first kick he tried ... but Eagles coach Doug Pederson used his final timeout before the snap to freeze the kicker. Not only was the game itself a nail-biter, the final moments were also some of the craziest you'll ever watch in a football game.

LG showed off a prototype of the concept at last year's CES, but the finished product, officially called the LG Signature OLED TV R, is even more impressive: It's a 65-inch 4K OLED TV, with HDR and the same smart TV capabilities as LG's other sets. Whenever the TV is not in use, the screen can automatically roll down. The display can be rolled up to desired height for viewing photos or to use it as a smart hub for smart devices.

The rollable OLED TV is 4K, but LG is still making the jump to 8K with two new, inflexible TVs.

This comes a year after LG added Google Assistant to its flagship TVs, which remains available on 2019 models.

LG Signature OLED TV R will be available for buying in the USA before the end of the year. All of the company's new flagship TV lines will have Amazon Alexa support, accessible through the microphone on the TV's remote with the press of a button, like on most Amazon Fire TV products besides the Fire TV Cube (which supports hands-free Alexa). However, it is very likely to arrive with an expensive price tag.
