The video of the moment circulating on social media had many people convinced that she did indeed slam the GLOW star, but once she became aware of the controversy, Metz took to Twitter to defend herself.

In response to other outlets speculating on the drama, Metz tweeted that the conflict was entirely fabricated and that she adores Brie. "I know you. It's just a rumour", she allegedly replied.

"Do I?" Metz began in an exaggerated tone before the visual cut to Brie, though they continued to play the audio of Metz who began to say, "She's such a b".

Brie has yet to respond. Speaking with Us Weekly during the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2019, Metz said, "It's unfortunate people want to say stuff that they don't know is true or not".

Other news outlets also reported that Metz used a curse word to describe Brie.
