Maurizio Sarri has refused to comment on Chelsea's pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain but says the club need two players during this month's transfer window. "I think at the moment my opinion is important for the club but of course I can not tell you 100% of my opinion".

"As you know very well I am not in control of the transfer market", Sarri told a press conference today.

"Hasan Salihamidzic: 'He is a very interesting player we really want to sign", he told German newspaper Bild during a winter training camp in Doha.

Sarri said: "I think that it's not professional, because they are talking about a player under contract with Chelsea".

"Then it depends on the club decision".

Higuain is now on loan at AC Milan but wants to cut the deal short to reunite with former Napoli manager, Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge. The club knows my opinion. "I don't know anything about the market day by day or minute by minute".

Sarri's team is not yet capable of a title push, and while he doesn't believe that we are a million miles away, he has publicly stated the need for Chelsea to sign two players before the end of the month. "I'm very happy with the player and I'd like to have him in the future".

"At the moment, Morata is here".

Hudson-Odoi is available to face Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday, but Sarri said he would monitor the 18-year-old's condition after noticing fatigue this week.

"It's insane. I think the January market window would be better for one week or 10 days, no more".

The coach's options on the wing have improved with the return to fitness of Pedro and Willian, who on Thursday was the subject of reports that Barcelona had submitted an offer worth £50m to sign him, with Malcom heading the other way.
