NBA All-Star Voting: Second Returns Released

The second returns on fan voting were released on Thursday and George is in position to start in the All-Star Game for the first time as a Western Conference player and the first time since 2016 when he was with Indiana. LeBron still leads all vote-getters with almost 2.8 million votes, while the Greek Freak leads the Eastern Conference with 2.67 million, slightly ahead of Kyrie Irving.

Westbrook remains in fourth place among Western Conference guards, but has expanded his lead on Golden State's Klay Thompson from just more than 200,000 votes to more than 700,000.

The fan votes count for 50 percent of the all-star teams, with player votes accounting for 25 percent of the team, and a media vote for the remainder.

Voting for fans, players and media will conclude on Monday, Jan. 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads all Eastern Conference vote-getters.

The captains' draft will be televised this season.

The fan vote, which opened December 25, accounts for 50 percent of the vote to determine the 10 All-Star starters. The top vote victor in each conference is named the captain of their team, and then they draft players from either conference's all-star starters and reserves list to comprise their team.
