Winter Storm WARNING Issued for Our Area

Winter weather advisories have been issued for Davidson, Randolph, Stanly, Chatham, Rowan and Montgomery counties.

Road conditions continue to be an issue for nearly all of IL, with IDOT reporting Interstates in our area as covered with snow or ice. If the storm swings further north than expected it could include rain and sleet mixed with the snow. Temperatures will slip to the upper 20s and back to the upper 30s on Saturday. Some bands of snow could be moderate at times. Most of the snow is expected to occur between 6 o'clock this evening and 6 o'clock Saturday evening when 5 to 8 inches is expected.

We should be back above freezing after 10 a.m. Sunday, sooner to the south of the Triad and a few hours later. Our northern counties will get in on the snow first working its way down south. During the day, precipitation will again be mixed, but light and patchy.
